PS5: 10 Most Promising Details You Haven’t Heard About

8. Sharing Is Caring

Now, here's a bit of an odd one, a notion that hasn't really been around since the days of having to share controllers to play Micro Machines multiplayer.

But as you can see from the above image, Sony has launched a patent that will allow several players to share one pad. Logistically, the elbow room might be an issue, and given that the image chosen is a beat 'em up concept, it doesn't look promising. But of course, that is just a mock up.

Sony have tested the waters with their PlayLink feature in games like Hidden Agenda, but this seems to go further than that. Quite how they'll use it outside of the party/quiz game genre has yet to be seen, or why it's even being touted as a feature at all still remains a mystery, so we'll have to wait and see.

Perhaps narrative adventures, like Man of Medan, could incorporate a team mode that relies on multiple inputs? Or better yet, a new Micro Machines!
