PS5: 10 Ways To Blow PS4 Out The Water

5. A Killer Launch Game

PS4’s launch just wasn’t great. However much you might love PlayStation and want to defend it, this was a poor launch. Leaving aside the likes of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Injustice: Gods Among Us and other titles available on the PS3, there’s just nothing really to care about here.

Contrast and Resogun were probably the highlights, and they’re both digital games which have since faded quickly into obscurity. The two they were relying on to be killer apps, Killzone: Shadow Fall and Knack, just quite clearly weren’t.

It seems especially cruel to go on kicking them when they’re still down so many years later, so let’s just leave it at that and say the PS4 lacked any real standout at launch. With the PS5, they can’t make that mistake.

Yes, if it’s fully backwards compatible you’ll be able to play all of your PS4 titles on there, but you can currently do that on your PS4. There needs to be a reason to upgrade.

Assassin’s Creed: Kingdom, Dying Light 2 and Gods & Monsters could feature, though they’ll be on Xbox too. Maybe Ghost Of Tsushima, Gran Turismo 7, Dreams or whatever Guerrilla’s working on could be the jewel in the launch crown.
