5. Games Will Be Printed On 100GB Optical Discs

Another small detail packed into the Wired interview was that new PS5 games will play off 100GB optical discs. For reference, most regular PS4 discs top out at 50GB, so this would allow for games double the size of those currently on the market.

Of course, that doesn't mean every game will max out the disc - so don't fret too much if you're a digital-only gamer.

The fact that the PS5 is putting so much stock into discs at all might be surprising, however. Back in 2013 the industry seemed to be gearing up for an all-digital future, but it appears everyone jumped the gun. Digital sales continue to grow year on year, but fortunately Sony isn't getting rid of the standard way to play any time soon.
