PS5: 9 Massive Problems Fans Won't See Coming
4. The Price
How much do you expect to pay for a new video game console?
The assumption changes by person and the feature set being advertised, but it's worth noting that the last time Sony were on top of the world - across the PS2's lifetime and on the eve of dropping PS3 details - they completely dropped the ball.
Asking Americans to pay $300 for a 20GB model and a whopping $600 for 60GB, Sony's own Ken Kutaragi added insult to injury, stating the company wanted people to "work more hours to buy one", adding "We want people to feel that they want it, irrespective of anything else."
Obviously this chest-puffing attitude didn't go down too well, and it allowed the 360 to run away with the entire generation.
Will Sony repeat history? Well, given the PS5's reported internal size is 2TB, and the average cost for 1TB SSD on PC is £100, it won't be cheap.
And that's before you up the cost on every other licensed component that makes up a new PlayStation.
