There's a world of difference between talking to your audience and talking with it.

Part of the reason why Fortnite's popularity has exploded is that Epic has clued into the fact that including players in discussions pertaining to the future direction of the game helps to nurture trust and respect, similarly to the rapport that Blizzard's Jeff Kaplan has established with Overwatch's fan base.

Bluehole has upped its game with consistent dev blogs and the like on PUBG's official site, but it's not the same as having a casual conversation on social media outlets.

It deserves some slack for being a relatively small and inexperienced industry player in comparison to Epic and others, but as time moves ever forward and more competitors surface, fans will expect an increasing amount of interaction between creator and consumer.

Let's hope Bluehole recognises the importance of that and adjusts its PR department accordingly.
