Rainbow Six Siege Beta: 10 Big Things You Need To Know
8. Weapon Variety Needs An Update
This was noticeable when the game was first demoed back in E3 of 2014, but even three months away from release weapons could still do with a little more kick than they currently do now. Assault rifles don't really differ from each other apart from aesthetically, and shotguns really lack the devastating stopping power they should be bringing with them too. I'm sure this'll all get taken care of through polishing and community feedback, because right now there really isn't much reason to experiment with different weaponry - especially when weapons are limited to their respective regiments. (inaccurately, in the case of the SAS too) Teased in the E3 demo but nowhere to be seen in the beta too, sniper rifles are being sorely missed for Rainbow's latest offering. Sure, they make little to no sense in a close quarters engagement, but having a sniper outside covering the windows would be a nice little addition to really supplement would-be units' gameplay styles.
