Rainbow Six Siege Beta: 10 Big Things You Need To Know

7. There's A Good Reason For Its Delay

Judging from the beta's issues, Rainbow's original October release date was never going to be a reality, let alone ethical. Drones fall through the map, traps in Terrorist Hunt are dispersed unevenly, and suicide bombers comically 'poof' into thin air rather than depict the event to its full horror. The game certainly needs polish before it releases, but December definitely seems like the most sensible option for Siege to début, even if it could potentially end up being detrimental to its overall fiscal success. Bluntly speaking of course, this delay signifies a key turning point in Ubi's attitude to releases. The backlash against AC: Unity's release really epitomised years of frustration gamers had had with unfinished titles making their way past the testing phase, but maybe Siege's delay is a sign of something better coming our way.
