Ranking 2018's Biggest Remaining Video Games By Anticipation
2. Red Dead Redemption 2
So far, Rockstar have been rolling out Red Dead Redemption 2's gameplay sequences in a very careful manner. It's clear RDR2 benefits from having one of the most lucrative studios in the world behind it, but as that's likely translated into an overwhelming amount of combat options and narrative paths, we're getting drip-fed everything before the big release.
Thankfully, we can say that the game's dynamic dialogue system (that reacts to everyone, NPC or main character) means you can talk to the entire world, picking up quests and carving your name through the old west in myriad unique ways. Gunplay looks tight as hell and new character Arthur Morgan will apparently bend personality-wise to how morally good or bad you want to be.
It is interesting to note that Red Dead Redemption 1 ended on the perfect book-closing finale, killing off a character that is now in better health than ever, being RDR2 is a prequel. Whether that will be a mistake in the long run remains to be seen, but Rockstar likely have that front and centre in the scriptwriting process.
