18. Skull & Bones

Skull And Bones
Ubisoft

Release Date: TBA

While there are many who (justifiably) believe that this pirate-themed actioner will simply be a retail-priced version of the nautical combat seen in the Assassin's Creed games, early press previews suggest that Skull and Bones just might amount to more than that.

Everybody loves pirates, and honestly it's a surprise there aren't more pirate-centric games out there.

With the middling response to Sea of Thieves this year, there's certainly a gap in the market for a game that provides a rich, sea-faring AAA experience, and fingers are crossed that this just might be it.

The visuals look spectacular in any event, and with Ubisoft promising a full-fat narrative story mode integrated into the focal multiplayer suite, perhaps Skull and Bones might be the good kind of AAA Ubisoft game.
