A fairly recent buy from Microsoft, the company snatched up the creators of Xbox's exclusive zombie co-op action/survival series. It's not a total win, however, since critics and gamers have been mixed on the franchise so far.
The first entry (released on Xbox 360) was the little game that could; rough-around-the-edges but with smart and addictive concepts amongst the flaws. Then the sequel came out on Xbox One and showed zero improvements; it was basically just as buggy, flawed and graphically ugly as the first - only this time the response was less sympathetic.
Labs have always enjoyed a loyal working relationship with Microsoft, and perhaps now as full-time employees, the company will be able to step their game up and deliver a refined and polished experience with the upcoming third State of Decay instalment.
