Ranking Every Battlefield From Worst To Best
1. Battlefield: Bad Company 2
Battlefield 2 may have drastically grown the scope of the series, but the best entry by far is 2010's Battlefield: Bad Company 2. It's the height of the franchise's online prowess and a peak that hasn't been reached since. It ranks at the top of the list because both its single-player and multiplayer were equally brilliant.
Picking up from where its predecessor left off, Bad Company 2 boasted a more bombastic campaign and with the advancements of Frostbite 1.5, the level of destruction also rose to match the heightened tension. These improvements were welcomed by the community, but the game's online offering was simply second to none at the time.
What made it so brilliant despite the heightened performance of newer entries? It all comes down to the maps, game balance and overall destruction. The rush game mode became an intensely popular attack/defend romp as players pushed the battle lines across the maps. Each of the maps could be drastically deformed and taken apart, but in Bad Company 2, this offered an enormous tactical advantage.
Players can mow down trees to boost line of the sight to the target, pilot air vehicles to spot enemies from the air, destroy buildings completely to take out a group of foes.
These elements of play are suspiciously lacking in newer Battlefield releases, putting Bad Company 2 a class above its successors and making it the finest title DICE has ever put out
