Ranking Every Battlefield From Worst To Best

5. Battlefield 3

Battlefield Games
Electronic Arts

Now we're getting into the mainstream; as perhaps the most well-known entry on the list, Battlefield 3 debuted Frostbite 2 and gave Modern Warfare 3 a real run for its money in 2011. It represented the biggest the franchise had ever gotten up to that point and received high praise for both its graphical fidelity and comprehensive multiplayer components.

There were some criticisms that the level of destruction wasn't as widespread as Battlefield: Bad Company 2, but most players still had a blast with it. Add to that the five DLC packs that followed, there was a ton of content to keep the community active after release. The PC version received considerably higher support with the addition of community servers which are still online

Unfortunately, while the multiplayer was an excellent outing all around, the single-player campaign was very poor.

Coming off of the success of its predecessor, it was very disappointing to see a ridiculously linear story mode with an equally dreadful story to boot. It offered none of the dynamic action seen in the game's online component.

On top of this, the game was also lacking in variety when it came to its cooperative missions, which also felt like missed potential.
