As a huge fan of RTS games and permanatly sporting a Fat Man in my trousers for anything X-Com adjacent of course I was in love with Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood Of Steel when it released.

However it is a bit of a black sheep when compared to the rest of the flock. After all going from an open world, non linear narrative to a much more tightly scripted, squad based management focus is always going to be an interesting gear shift. However for those willing to try something new Fallout Tactics is a strong, fully realised title with a confidence that is at once challenging and incredibly charming.

Telling the tale of a new Brotherhood Of Steel initiate, you get to explore sections of nuclear scorched earth while directing a team of specialists. This balancing act of know when to use which character coupled with an ever increasing horde of enemies can be overwhelming at first, but thanks to the game's admittedly brilliant narrative you'll be hopping in the power armour and crushing heads again and again with wanton abandon.
