Ranking EVERY Fallout Game From Worst To Best
4. Fallout
The moment that defined a franchise. The first foray into the desolate Wasteland that we all know and love. The original fallout is truly a wonder of design and a love letter to a time when player choice didn't just mean picking between two options.
It still boggles my mind to this day how much content is packed into this game; the areas are densely detailed with rich characters, an absurd amount of side missions, and nuanced dialogue that allows you to shape any type of character you wish.
From chem-addicted hot head all the way to lobotomised strong man, you can approach the same mission from so many ways that it's impossible not to fall in love with the original Fallout.
And what makes this game even more S.P.E.C.I.A.L is that it dropped in the late 90's, a time when many critics were predicting the death of traditional RPG's in the face of online multiplayer, and still managed to become a standout in both sales and review scores.
Don't be put off by the ageing graphics, because Fallout's gameplay shines just as bright as a Nuka Cola Quantum.
