Ranking Every Kingdom Hearts Game - From Worst To Best
2. Kingdom Hearts Final Mix
The original Kingdom Hearts- despite coming out fifteen years ago- still holds up as a fantastic game today and managed to build a franchise that still turns heads today.
Describing why the original Kingdom Hearts is still one of the best games in the series is surprisingly difficult. The graphics are vibrant, the soundtrack is fantastic, the gameplay is satisfying if a bit simple and the characters are loveable. Kingdom Hearts just ticks every box in making a great game.
One of the greatest aspects to the first Kingdom Hearts that still hasn't been replicated in the series since is the depth of the worlds. Each and every world is expansive and detailed and all of them contain lots of different secret areas and items within. Subsequent entries into the series drastically marked down this aspect of the game, making most areas simple and flat.
Simply put; whether it be due to nostalgia or true quality that holds up even now, the first Kingdom Hearts still remains as one of the best in a series that now spans ten different games. It holds up fantastically well considering its age, and kickstarted a series that fans hold near and dear to their heart even now. It all started from this.
