Ranking Every Kingdom Hearts Game - From Worst To Best

7. Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain Of Memories

Despite essentially being another retread through the worlds of the original Kingdom Hearts, Re: Chain of Memories ends up being one the most unique Kingdom Hearts entries out there.

One of the surprising highlights of Chain of Memories is the story. Featuring the introduction of several members of Organisation XIII and Namine, Chain of Memories ends up being essential for understanding the events of Kingdom Hearts 2.

Although it is certainly more complicated than the first game, the story here is actually quite interesting and not at all throwaway, unlike Re:coded.

Instead of the real time action gameplay that most other Kingdom Hearts games have, Chain of Memories instead has a battle system that uses cards in place of normal commands. Cards for Keyblade attacks, magic and summons all exist within the battle system and help keep it interesting.

The main downfall of Re: Chain of Memories comes from the reuse of worlds from the first Kingdom Hearts, and the eventual repetition of gameplay towards the end. Most Kingdom Hearts fans will enjoy this, but it isn't perfect by any means.
