It simply cannot be understated how polished and accomplished this remake is. So much so that it rightly deserves to not only to be near the top of this list, but also that it should be counted as its own game entirely.
The over-shoulder gameplay and tight as coffin nails gunplay are the backbone of Resident Evil 2’s remake, and while the game has more disgusting enemies that you could shake a piece of infected tofu at, this is no slouch.
The core experience is fluid, the enemies relentless and the graphics incredibly polished, and all sit alongside a game that feels familiar to fans, and excitingly fresh to everyone. Whether you’re wading through sewers, through secret fauna-filled labs, or simply running from the ever terrifying Tyrant, the game never lets up. As we stated in our review of the game, this isn’t just the benchmark for the franchise, but what other remakes should be holding themselves accountable to.
