Ranking Every Neversoft Tony Hawk Game From Worst To Best
7. Pro Skater 1
The game that started it all was surprisingly not the first skateboarding game to enter our homes. Activision had set out to capitalise on the growing market, kicked started by EA's Street Sk8er. You can be forgiven for not knowing about EA’s effort however, it failed to make much of an impression on critics but thankfully opened the door for Activision.
The first game set the benchmark for all other games to follow. Introducing the two minute time limit per run, players had set tasks to achieve within that time. It wasn’t necessary for all the goals to be completed within one run, but hardcore fans relished the challenge.
Pro Skater 1 was simply laying out the basic building blocks for the franchise, but it’s still fondly remembered by fans. It features some of the most iconic levels in the game’s history, with the School and Warehouse maps being reused for later instalments. It may not hold up against later games, but it’s still a fantastic effort and at the time was an exciting breath of fresh air to the gaming industry.
