Ranking Every PlayStation Classic Game From Worst To Best
8. Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee
While it's not perfect, few games have ever released with more personality than Oddworld. Its inclusion is perhaps a little surprising, having been fairly recently remade as Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty, but fans will be nonetheless excited to play the seminal original.
As the name suggests, you play as Abe, a charming (if somewhat ugly looking) Mudokon. He finds out his people are being slaughtered and takes it upon himself to liberate them from their captors. Using traditional sidescrolling platforming, combined with puzzle solving and small stealth sections, the game tasks you with freeing as many as you can as you complete each level.
While not being as tough as releases like Super Meat Boy or Cuphead, it's not for the faint hearted either. Oddworld has a punishingly steep difficulty curve and only allowed players to save at spaced-out checkpoints. However, games like that give you an adrenaline rush each time you reach safety. Some may not like the arguably needless difficulty in such a fun game, but others will see it as an opportunity to thrive under the challenge.
