Ranking Every Rockstar Game From Worst To Best
20. Midnight Club II
Iterating on one of their most cult classic of franchises, Midnight Club II landed slap-bang in the middle of Burnout/Need for Speed/Fast & the Furious 2003 street racing euphoria.
Amping up everything from the feel of speed to car customisation, the addition of bikes and all manner of routes and shortcuts you could take to win, just the base look of the game was leagues above what we'd gotten only three years prior. To this day there's an argument to be made that Midnight Club II is the best of the bunch (though I'll get to part 3 and L.A. in good time).
Still, this fantastic sequel released just half a year after Vice City, once again being ahead of its time by pioneering various features like flashing lights at racers to take them on or launching yourself off ramps to get across the city (both things that get attributed to Burnout Paradise).
Midnight Club was destined to get left in the dust as Grand Theft Auto was quickly becoming bigger than Jesus, but it's humbling to see Rockstar never gave up on those who'd been with them since the beginning.
