Ranking Every Silent Hill Video Game From Worst To Best

9. Silent Hill: The Arcade

From one misjudged title to another, Silent Hill: The Arcade was another attempt at shaking up the series' formula that sadly fell flat on its face.

As opposed to mind-numbing dungeon-crawling, this game instead gives you a massive firearm and tells you to go crazy gunning down as many malformed monstrosities as possible whilst you saunter through the foggy vacation town.

A fun game in its own right but woefully out of place in terms of the Silent Hill canon, this on-rails shooter feels like your run-of-the-mill arcade game with a Silent Hill filter hastily slapped onto it. Think Time Crisis, only instead of doing battle against international super-villains and low-ranking goons, you've got Pyramid Head stalking you and creepy marionette monsters baying for your blood.

That may make it sound more appealing than it actually is, but make no mistake when we say that Silent Hill: The Arcade is painfully generic and really has no right being a Silent Hill game. The iconography is there, but the soul is truly lacking and this one remains a curious oddity for hard-core fans only.

When all is said and done Silent Hill: The Arcade is fun in small doses, but ultimately worthless.
