13. New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe
Nintendo's first big game of the year is another Wii U re-release. At least the game is pretty great.
New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe is actually the first major title releasing this year, and it's hopefully not too indicative of Nintendo's upcoming year.
Yes, despite New Super Mario Bros U being a great game when it released back in 2012, this is yet another re-release by Nintendo. For those who have already played the games, there's not really much to look forward to here.
Despite the Deluxe edition adding several new features such as a new character, it isn't enough of an upgrade like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was. It's more along the lines of something like Tropical Freeze, which was a much better platformer overall.
It'll still be fun to go through this one, but it's a shame that the most notable thing about it is the fan-made character that it managed to create.
