Metacritic Score: 87 (PC) The Verdict: Don't be turned off by the cutesy title: Pony Island is already shaping up to be one of the year's most innovative games, in which the player attempts to extricate themselves from the titular arcade game, which just so happens to have been created by the Devil himself (yes, really). In order to rescue your soul, you switch between playing the arcade game itself and hacking your way through the game's files, ensuring there's plenty of variety to accompany the gleefully demented premise. Packed with self-aware video game humour, an unexpectedly disturbing tone and a snappy play-time that wastes not a second, Pony Island is efficient, inventive, super-smart and absolutely worth the minuscule asking price.
Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes).
