3. Sackboy
Playstation's cutest little mascot hails from Little Big Planet, a series that found surprising success on the PS3. Arguably the closest thing Sony has to a Mario these days, Sackboy brings the charm and family-appeal to the Playstation brand. Having only debuted on the PS3 Sackboy and LBP have also found success in kart-racing and on the PSP and Vita, proving he can continue his following wherever he goes. Small, brown and knit together, Sackboy has a unique look that is reminiscent of a teddy bear, ensuring his attempted appeal to children and family markets. Even though he doesnt speak Sackboy can change facial expressions, be made dance with the analogues and has a myriad of outfits to don. Even though his appeal to the hard-core gamer is limited I think Sackboy is definitely amongst Playstations most recognised and celebrated characters. That being said I think he loses out on a higher spot because to a casual Microsoft or even Playstation gamer he could be assumed to be a Nintendo character.
