Red Dead Online: 10 Tips & Tricks To Ensure Victory Every Time
2. Get The High Ground
As the old saying goes, "Don't do it Anakin! I have the high ground." What works for Obi-Wan Kenobi also works for your Red Dead character too, and for one very effective reason: you can see more of the territory.
Take Tumbleweed for instance: players will experience limited success if they attempt to survive in the town or barn areas, but if they switch things up and head to the rocks overlooking the lot they'll be able to get the drop on players rotating through the barn and town. Watch your back by the camp areas, and you should find yourself with players rushing to your location, but with a handy vantage point, a good weapon and a decent sense of when to dodge, you'll find yourself surviving more times than not.
There are numerous other places to hole up on different maps, but one thing to do is make sure you're not static; move around, make yourself hard to hit and you'll be able to make even the most exposed position your own little fortress.
