6. The Lancaster Repeater Is Your First Port Of Call

The starting few weapons in Red Dead Online are fine enough - you get a basic repeater and a Cattleman Revolver, but it's only the latter that you'll want to hold on to. As soon as you get to rank 12, and have $400 dollars spare, you'll want to head to your nearest gunsmith and acquire the Lancaster Repeater, because it's the best weapon in the game and the only rifle you'll need online.
The bolt-action rifle is good for hunting too, but the fast fire-rate and adequate damage of Red Dead's Winchester analogue is the perfect tool for the discerning denizen of Red Dead Online. It's what makes it better than the Litchfield, which boasts better damage but at the expense of accuracy and fire-rate, and it's why it's currently the best weapon to use in the game.
Versatile, deadly and ludicrously easy to use, the Lancaster Repeater is the best repeater currently and comes in handy no matter the range. You'll barely notice the lower damage when you're pinging heads from a safe distance, and it'll come in handy when you're out in the open world too.
