Red Dead Redemption: 10 Darkest Stranger Missions
7. Flowers For A Lady
After a somewhat intense start to the game, which includes being gunned down and being a ranch hand (all in a day's work for our John), the first stranger mission available to the player certainly gives an indication of the game's curious world.
Just east of MacFarlane's Ranch, Marston will bump into an older gentleman called Billy West who's out picking flowers for his beloved wife Annabel. Marston offers to help the old-timer who duly accepts, leaving the player to pick a bountiful bouquet for the endearing couple.
After a quick world exploration, Marston can return to Billy with a posy of feverfew and sage. As a thank you, Billy will invite Marston inside for tea, to which it is soon revealed that Annabel is actually dead. Judging by the decomposition of Annabel's corpse, it is hypothesised that she has been dead for a number of decades, leading to a number of conclusions regarding the mental well-being of Billy.
The man clearly loved his wife dearly, and has been living in denial for all of these years, not wishing to let go. Alternatively, his sanity took a bit of a knock following her passing and genuinely still believes she is still there.
