Red Dead Redemption: 10 Darkest Stranger Missions
3. Let No Man Put Asunder
At Coot's Chapel in Cholla Springs, Marston can find a worried older lady named Alma Horlick. Dressed all in white, Alma reveals that she is looking for her soon-to-be husband Peter Turner who has mysteriously vanished.
Marston heads to nearby Armadillo to chat with local musician Nathan Harling who insidiously offers a trade for his information regarding the whereabouts of Peter. The player can either hand over $5 or bring Nathan's departing wife Rose back to him (which basically means Marston forcibly retrieves Rose back to Nathan as she weeps on the floor). Either of which results in Nathan revealing that the slightly eccentric Peter can be found at Odd Fellow's Rest out in the desert.
Before Marston sets off, Nathan also infers that Peter suffered "what happens to all of us". A coy and cryptic clue that foreshadows that Peter has passed away 17/20 years (depending on if you are John or Jack) prior to the events of the game and just before his scheduled wedding to Alma.
The final sad deduction is that Alma, much like Billy West, has gone mad and delusional either from abandonment or grief.
