1. The Strange Man

Of all Rockstar’s creations, not only in Red Dead Redemption but in all of its many universes and franchises, none are more intriguing than the Strange Man.

Appearing as an older, well-dressed man in a suit (top hat included), he addresses John in a manner that suggest he knows of him and his past exploits, however John persists and maintains that he does not recall him. Popping up several times over the course of the story, there are several theories about who the Strange Man actually is or what he represents.

Some say he is the human representation of God, Satan, or a Saint Peter type character. Others suggest he is a manifestation of Marston’s sense of right and wrong, as he often comments on John’s decisions and actions throughout the story. Seeing him appear in the sequel, observing events in either the same form or as a completely different entity could explain his cryptic words in the original.

As many different fan ideas about the Strange Man and his origins exist, Rockstar could add to his background by including him in Red Dead 2.
