Red Dead Redemption 2: 10 Unsolved Mysteries That Will Freak You Out
5. The Skulls
This one is probably the smallest freaky occurrence here, in that it’s just a visual Easter egg rather than coming as part of any wider mystery to be uncovered. Still, it’s very strange, and the complete lack of any explanation only makes them more compelling.
In Lemoyne, you’ll see a pile of skulls, which is itself a little eerie. On its own though, it’s just an example of how dark and dangerous the world of Red Dead Redemption can be; not too dissimilar from the pile of bodies found in Tall Trees. For what it’s worth, the prevailing theory on the pile of bodies is that it’s the missing Blackwater athletics team.
Back to the skulls though. There’s two different types in the pile, one human and one... altogether something else.
They have large fangs which resemble a bear’s skull, but the shape of the rest is completely wrong. They seem to be primate skulls, but then they’re too large, suggesting much bigger or swollen brains than the average chimpanzee or even gorilla.
Even if they are intended to be apes of some kind, how and why did a pile of ape skulls end up in Lemoyne?
