Red Dead Redemption 2: 8 Reasons You Should Be Worried

3. Too Many Characters Could Lead To A Muddled Plot

Although GTA V featured three playable protagonists, if leaks are to be believed then Red Dead Redemption 2 will allow you to play as a whole posse of outlaws.

Allegedly similar to games like Mass Effect or Dragon Age, in every mission you'll be able to select a group of characters to join you in the fight. With each one being playable and boasting different abilities and personalities, the idea is that you'll be expanding your posse until it's full of the same outlaws that made up the Van der Linde gang in the original game.

This could pose a huge problem however, because the original Red Dead Redemption succeeded so much thanks to it being a focused character study.

With a handful of playable characters though it could be difficult to make fans care about their motivations or personalities, as juggling so many different protagonists will inevitably result in some of them being short changed.

Multiple playable characters is still a good idea, but RDR 2 could be in trouble if it tries to push the idea further than it needs to go.
