Red Dead Redemption 3: 10 Things Rockstar MUST Do
6. Develop A Posse System
Now, this is a slightly different inclusion to the rest of the entries on this list. If Landon Ricketts isn’t a playable character in Red Dead Redemption 3, what if you could get him to join your Posse?
Grand Theft Auto V implemented a system where you could pick and choose people to hire onto your gang for bank heists. You could also find strangers in the open-world who could become potential gang members, depending on their skills, but what if a similar mechanic could be introduced in RDR3? You could meet famous gunslingers - like Landon Ricketts - or small-time outlaws, and get them to join your posse. This could lead to in-depth and strategic bank robberies or full-on assaults of rival gang hideouts.
This system could also work on the complete opposite end of the spectrum. You could choose to experience your playthrough as a “lone wolf”, and take on the same missions as before, becoming a legendary gunslinger yourself along the lines of Clint Eastwood's Man with No Name.
A “Posse” system could dictate how the whole game is played. It would be a big step to see Rockstar introduce something like this, but it would most certainly provide an innovative new dynamic for players to get to grips with.
