Red Dead Redemption 3: 10 Things Rockstar MUST Do

3. Playable Characters

Something Rockstar can say with pride is they have created some of the most influential video game characters of all time. John Marston and Arthur Morgan, from Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Redemption 2 respectively, will remain in gaming’s hall of fame for years to come. But who will be playable in Red Dead Redemption 3?

As previously mentioned RDR3 might be another prequel, therefore opening the possibility of playing as a younger version of an original character. Could we see the early days of The Van Der Linde Gang through the eyes of a young Hosea? Or maybe follow the events of Arthur Morgan’s father?

An equally exciting possibility, however, would be to play as a completely new character. This humongous risk was taken with Arthur Morgan in RDR2, and thankfully Rockstar pulled it off. If they were to introduce a brand new protagonist for the next game, they would make it work for sure.

A slightly different approach could be multiple playable characters. This system was used in GTAV, with the player being able to change between Micheal, Franklin or Trevor at any time. This could be a new dynamic mechanic for the Red Dead series and open up countless avenues of gameplay opportunities. Rockstar could even choose to go one step further, and take a similar approach to Watch Dogs: Legion by making almost every character in the game playable.

The least Rockstar could do is include a non-male protagonist for once.
