While the Albert Wesker of the games was just another grunt, Anderson elevated the character to ultimate villain by giving film Wesker a well-deserved promotion from rogue Umbrella researcher to full on head of the company. He may have only briefly appeared in Extinction, and even those lines were supposed to have been given to Commander Okamoto, but thankfully Anderson kept him in.

After his holographic appearance , a more badass version of Wesker was back for Afterlife, this time portrayed by Shawn Roberts, and it was here that Wesker took on the full villain role of the series. A stark contrast from Glen's Isaacs, Wesker has gone from strength to strength as the series has continued, and will feature as the main anti-hero of The Final Chapter.

No other human antagonist has played such a part in the series as Albert, always remaining cool and robotic behind his shades. Complete with superhuman powers and his signature glowing, red, eyes, new Wesker is much closer to his video game counterpart, which is a big win for fans of the console series. For true Wesker greatness, look at his fight with Chris and Claire, which is an almost shot-for-shot remake of his battle in RE5. You have to admit, without the character of Wesker, Resident Evil would be missing a huge part of its history.
