Was there ever any doubt how gorgeous this game would look? When being compared to the original's polygonal graphics, the improvement was always going to be substantial. However, the tech put on display still went above expectations. The gorgeously-rendered environments and character models were suitably impressive, allowing every member of the cast to be fully realized during cutscenes.

As impressive as the graphics themselves were, it was details like the visible wear-and-tear on the zombies after a couple bullets and stabs that sent it over-the-edge. The way their skin would burn away, be sliced open, or visibly register a bullet was incredible to behold. This worked in tandem with the superb animation that made their movement so lifelike and off-putting. How a zombie would continue moving forward, extending its arms towards you as it fell to its death or the way they'd scale a table if you were directly in front of one made so many little moments memorable.

Capcom surely spared no expense in ensuring this game's AAA status, and it benefits tremendously from that decision.
