Resident Evil 2: 9 Things To Look Forward To

4. Raccoon City Revisited

Resident Evil 2
Capcom

The RCPD building is as iconic as the Spencer mansion from the first game. From its opening pan as you enter, to the light piano music, right down to convoluted method to unlocking doors.

It seems that Capcom have taken that in stride, as it mostly looks unchanged since the 1998 version. Graphically, it's been vastly improved on, and sees makeshift barricades and strewn debris where the police have tried taking a stand. Whether or not it keeps the snooker-loopy key puzzle/door system of the original remains to be seen.

It's not just the RCPD building that's been given the interior makeover. The interim sewer area has been expanded on, in part to accommodate Ada's new gameplay style. Whilst that and the tram station were just connecting areas before, it would be remiss to not expand on them to cater for the new graphical and gameplay enhancements.

It remains to be seen how well Birkin's laboratory has been changed, and whether it stills includes any giant moths.
