Resident Evil 2 Remake: 10 Things It Got WRONG

7. Removing The Giant Moth Completely

Following on from the previous point, simply because it was a small yet memorable part of the original RE2.

It would be a bit of a misnomer to call this encounter a "boss fight". Anyone who knew what they were doing in the original could easily fell this beasty with some upgraded shotgun shells, magnum rounds or the great cleanser of sins: fire.

The giant moth that inhabits the computer room on the fifth basement floor on the underground Umbrella lab wasn't a massive threat in the grand scheme of things. Alright, it could lamely flutter over to you and give you a sprinkle of some troublesome poison dust (because blue herbs are a scarce commodity), but unless you did absolutely nothing there was no imminent danger.

So yes, granted it's not in keeping with "tense horror experience" that we've been reintroduced to. But perhaps it could have been there to bring a little levity to the mix, like a joke nod to the original. Maybe have it perched over an extractor fan, or something?

Would have made a better throwback than the next entry...
