Resident Evil 2 Remake: 10 Things It Got WRONG

6. Reducing The Sewer Croc "Fight" To A QTE

Resident Evil 2 Leon Sad
Capcom

Hands up, who genuinely cacked themselves when the mutated crocodile appeared from literally nowhere in Leon's campaign when they first saw it? Well, if you haven't raised those digits, you are a big fibber.

There were two ways of destroying the encroaching croc: you could battle it out and be rewarded with some ammunition at the end (which, when you think about it, isn't a reward at all as you've used so much). Or, you could totally Jaws it.

By that, you could drop a conveniently placed canister, wait for Snappy to grab it in its mouth, and take it out with a single shot. Saying "Smile, you son of a..." is optional.

This time around, you're dropped into the sewer, leading to a Crash Bandicoot-esque towards-camera chase before the persistent pest gets stuck on a pipe.

It was less a boss battle, and more RE4 boulder chase. Considering the game has already removed some bosses and creatures, it seems a shame to remove another boss fight for the sake of spectacle.
