Resident Evil 2 Remake: 10 Things It Got WRONG

5. No Tongue-In-Cheek Dialogue

Whilst "Jill sandwich" will always go down in the annals of history as "Corniest Dialogue Ever", the superior sequel wasn't above its B-list acting either.

Despite having a more cohesive narrative, it still felt like the actors weren't invested and that added a certain charm in it.

Leon ham-handedly gesturing at Claire about the need to split up and look for survivors, or Robert Kendo calling Claire "babe" detracted some of the horror at times with the absurdity of the delivery.

Nowadays, storytelling in gaming is just as strong a medium as film or TV. Capcom know this, and have given the characters more gravitas and depth to their deliveries. Leon purveying the sense of instilled duty in his work, and Claire playing caretaker to a child, show their humanity and purpose well.

That being sense, it'd be nice if we could have a slight lapse back into the sillies. A throwaway line or two, a nod to the original, just anything to brighten up the constant sense of foreboding terror.
