Resident Evil 2 Remake: 9 Tiny Details Fans Will Love
5. Renovations
The original Raccoon City police building had some puzzling architectural oddities, to say the least. Having an emergency ladder be the sole method of accessing the station's upper floors from the main hall, for example, would have been a surefire way to violate safety regulations, not least because it could only be lowered from above.
Fortunately, for the sake of our ability to suspend disbelief, Capcom's made a sweep through the station to eliminate those inconsistencies as a means of promoting a more logical-feeling sense of progression through its labyrinthine interior.
The main hall, in particular, has received a drastic redesign: the aforementioned ladder replaced with twin staircases leading up to the second floor and the attention-grabbing statue, previously poised front and centre, relocated to behind the reception desk.
Oh, and do be sure to cast an analytic eye over the desk's contents. There's sure to be a use, besides scene dressing, for that typewriter. Is this the unconfirmed return of Ink Ribbons?
