Resident Evil 3: 10 Major CHANGES From The Original
7. Helping People In The City
Resident Evil 3 starts the day before Resident Evil 2, yet you'd never tell that from the games. In fact, considering the sequel has new monsters in it, Raccoon City seems to be even more overrun the day before Leon and Claire arrive. It's almost like the outbreak is progressing backward rather than spreading.
Early on in the original game, Jill joins a certain chickenhearted police officer and they make their way to the Raccoon Police Department. The trailer for the Nemesis remake shows the same thing happening, but this time it seems they'll be meeting survivors along the way and trying to help them out.
Unless you count the bonus time you could get by saving humans from monsters in The Mercenaries minigame, this simply didn't happen in the original RE3.
There were precious few survivors in the Resident Evil 2 remake, but those that existed were used to brilliantly highlight different parts of Raccoon City's downfall. As Resident Evil 3's story spends a lot more time on the streets than RE2 did, we may well run into several new survivors throughout the course of the game.
Personally, I'm hoping that some of the characters from the Outbreak games show up.
