Resident Evil 3: 10 Major CHANGES From The Original

5. No Action Choice Mechanism

In the original game, there would be moments when players could make choices that changed how certain scenes played out. The action would freeze and two options would flash up on the screen with a timer. Players had to quickly choose what you wanted to do, or have the choice taken away them in often bad ways.

An early example occurred right at the start of the police station, where the choice was between running inside or fighting the monster. Those who chose to fight had a chance to evade Nemesis and pick up an item they couldn't normally get until much later on.

Most of these choices controlled where Jill or Carlos ended up after, or what enemies they faced. Twenty-one years of gameplay and control refinements combined with the new way Nemesis tracks his prey mean this approach simply isn't needed anymore.

If the player chooses to run away, then they can do that. If they choose to hide or comically jump out of the window of a moving subway car, it's as simple as approaching a place or item that makes sense and clicking a button prompt when it comes up.

After hearing that you are what you eat, Mik took a good hard look at his diet and realised he might just be a szechuan spare rib alongside prawn fried rice.
