Resident Evil 3 Remake: 10 Reasons Why It Sucks

7. No Live Selection Moments

Another feature that Resident Evil 3 introduced, besides the dodge and the 180 degree turn, were the live selection moments.

Now, whilst the game was still fairly linear, it did allow for some dynamic changes that mixed up pathways and progression.

It also led to some fight or flight moments with the Nemesis, allowing you to stand your ground and be rewarded for it... if he didn't mess you up big time, that is.

Sadly, they're gone too.

The worse thing is, there was no reason for them to be removed. They could have spruced up the extremely linear game exponentially, giving players more reason to play again and attempt different routes.

No parking garage earthquake, no shoving the Nemesis off of a bridge. It's all gone.

Would it have been that difficult to put in during, for example, one of the boring Nemesis chase sequences, a Dragon's Lair style path split? Perhaps with some different obstacles or obstructions in the way to keep us on our toes?

Apparently so, as nothing remotely similar happens in this version.
