Resident Evil 3 Remake: 10 Things It Can Improve On
1. The Same Horror And Tone Of The RE2 Remake
Early Resident Evil games, in fairness to their limitations, have always been quite bright and colourful considering their horror nature. After the farce that was Resident Evil 6, it wasn't until the 7th main entry in the series that a well needed dose of horror was re-injected. It gave new life (or unlife, or whatever you call zombification) into the once-legendary franchise, that not even the films could take from it.
So when RE2 2019 landed, with its dark and foreboding tone, fans were more than happy over the return to the tense and fraught nature of the game. It put the survival back into "survival horror", making it one of this decade's best action/horror titles.
Hopes are high, then, that this remake can carry that baton, instead of dropping it like earlier sequels did. If the Nemesis can maintain the relentless pursuit it initially had, if normal enemies and other boss fights can inspire fear then maybe, just maybe we'll have hope.
I don't think we'll have anything to fear, other than what's in the game itself, but fingers are nonetheless crossed.
