Resident Evil 3 Remake: 10 Things It Can Improve On
2. Keep Nemesis Terrifying
Boy, the Resident Evil films suck, don't they? Sorry, I mean "take creative license with the source material and set fire to it", don't they?
But more specifically, they did the Nemesis dirty in the second film. Whilst we never knew the origins of the character in the original game, we learn that it's survivor Matt from the first film that's turned into the monster in the movie. Which would have been fine, if they hadn't humanised him and given him some crappy redemptive sacrifice(?) towards the end.
Whereas this time around, we're seeing a more fleshed out origin of the Nemesis. Which again, is fine, but leave it at that. Keep him relentless, keep him unstoppable (more or less). Keep him as his namesake suggests, don't give him some weird moment where he regains memories and suddenly joins you in your escape from Raccoon City.
A Nemesis is defined as "the inescapable agent of someone's or something's downfall". So Capcom, take note: no humanising, just keep the monster as a monster. Deal?
