Resident Evil 3 Remake: EVERY Major Change & Missing Feature
Nemesis Encounters
Original:
Player choice wasn’t really a thing back in the ’90s when it came to video games. Sure some RPGs offered the ability to take a different story path and Mario could jump into paintings of any order, but RE3 broke grounds with the early Nemesis encounters.
When Nemesis wasn’t seeming popping up out of anywhere, these were some of the most memorable sections of RE3.
At certain points during this Playstation original, the terrifying Tyrant would rock up and trigger a sequence of events. These would boil down to fighting Nemesis or running for dear life, but more often than not provide challenges which would allow the unlock of weapon upgrades.
Right there and then, Capcom were enticing multiple playthroughs.
Remake:
Capcom took the 2020 Remake down a much different path in comparisons to what they delivered in 1999. Nemesis is much more roughness and unforgiving in the Remake and if he gets his hands on Jill on higher difficulties like Nightmare and Inferno it is game over.
However, after the initial area of Raccoon City, the Nemesis encounters become a lot less random and straight-up scripted after a while. So after a playthrough or two, the Tyrant really isn’t much trouble once it reaches the second form.
It might be a thrill the first time around, but this is a bit of a knock against the remake and Capcom should’ve gone to greater lengths to keep the fear rolling throughout the game.
