Resident Evil 7: 10 Biggest Fan Demands Capcom Must Include

9. No More Globetrotting

While it's fun to visit some exotic locations every so often, there's something to be said about the pure simplicity of the first game taking place entirely in a mansion. And while Resident Evil 2 veers off onto the streets of Raccoon City, it still largely takes place within the confines of the police station that gamers grew so very fond of. One of the easiest ways to elicit fear in a game is isolation, and it's something that the mansion was able to do with ease. Being stuck in that creepy mansion created an uneasy tension that worked through the entire game, which is something that the globe-trotting of later games just can't do. That sense of isolation is paramount to what makes the first game so memorable, and it's something that is a constant in horror. There's nothing more frightening than being completely isolated from what you know, and would be a nice back to basics move for the series. Bring back that sense of constant fear, with little to no room for the player to really feel comfortable. Always be at their back, hounding them, which is exactly what made the original game such a sensation.
