Resident Evil 7: 10 Biggest Fan Demands Capcom Must Include
7. Go Back To The B-Movie Roots
Part of the fun of the first Resident Evil game was that it had a distinct b-movie feel to it, with hammy dialogue and some questionable voice performances. But it was all in good fun, as fans have entertained themselves for years with references to Jill Sandwiches and the master of unlocking. In recent years, though, Capcom seems to have had a lot of fun in sucking the fun right out of the series. It's become reliant on overly dramatic plot devices that lack any sense of the straight-up fun that the series used to be known for. No one is asking you to write something painfully campy; instead, try to remember that Resident Evil 1 is one of the greatest games ever made because of how it made the player feel. It reminded them of when they used to watch old horror films and laugh at how absurd they were, only now they were in charge of the action. The corny dialogue and over the top performances weren't a bad thing, they were all part of the charm that made players remember the game fondly. While it may seem outdated in today's world of 1080p graphics and 5.1 sound, something a little old fashioned may be exactly what the series needs.
