Resident Evil 7: 10 Biggest Fan Demands Capcom Must Include
5. Less Action, More Survival
Ever since Capcom released Resident Evil 4, the series has been accused by many for having become fixated on white-knuckle action as opposed to the survival horror genre it had helped popularize. Both the survival and the horror were gone, replaced with shooting galleries that lacked any of the charm that the original games possessed. It was a truly haunting experience to make your way through that mansion for the first time, unaware of just what might be waiting for you around every corner. Ironically, Capcom will be remastering the HD remake that terrified GameCube owners back in 2002 early next year; a 12-year old remake of a 20-year old game that will easily have more suspense and tension than whatever silliness Capcom thinks RE7 needs. The thing with Resident Evil is that it's painfully simple to see what fans want, but Capcom have become so blindly focused on raising the action bar with each game, that any sense of horror is merely an afterthought. No one is saying that you need to completely axe the action elements from the game, but rather tone them down so that players don't feel the sensory overload that later games are so fond of.
