Resident Evil 7: 10 Biggest Fan Demands Capcom Must Include

3. A New Inventory System

The inventory system for the franchise has always been something of a sore spot, as its clunky method of moving you around to select items and weapons was enough to create some awkward frustration. Resident Evil 6 didn't help matters much, as it was just as funky to move around in as it always was. And if we're talking about the series retaining its classic elements, but still moving forward, then the inventory system has just got to go. While this may seem unimportant in the long run, a solid inventory system can make or break a game, especially in survival horror. Fumbling around with an awkward menu is about as frightening as a zombie taking a bite out of you these days, and Capcom really needs to focus in on the inventory system to make it as clean as possible. Selecting weapons or items in a horror experience needs to feel quick and painless, as it balances the in-game terror in very clear ways. Completely overhaul that inventory system, Capcom, and we're on the road to recovery.
